Storage Frequently Asked Questions

Why should we use your services rather than a warehouse or storage locker?

Our business is managing information. We not only store your boxes, but using our bar coding and tracking systems we assist you in knowing where your documents are at all times. This provides more security than your storage room or basement arrangement. Our documentation and security give you the assurance you need, and is demanded by many new laws and regulations such as HIPAA.

How quickly can we get a record?

We are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During normal business hours we can get files to you in 30 minutes if necessary. On an emergency (off hours) basis we can get your files in two hours.

What kind of security do you have?

Our on-site storage areas are accessible only to LDS employees. We utilize specific check in and check out procedures to maintain the security and safety of our buildings. Additionally, our facility is monitored 24 hours a day for inappropriate access and fire.

How much space can we have?

Lakeshore Documents can provide all the storage space you need and more. Our bar coding system allows for accurate tracking of each box you entrust to us.

Can we look at our records at your facility?

Yes. Lakeshore has a viewing room for client use. We can pull the requested boxes so you may perform audits, reviews or other activities without cluttering up your office.

What happens after you pick up our boxes?

We first assign a bar code to the box and then put box descriptions, dates and other identifying information about the box in our database. We can also index or list each file in the box for absolute accountability of your valuable information. Finally, we can issue you a report showing the records you have entrusted to our care.
