Scanning Frequently Asked Questions
What should we scan?
Every company needs to make that determination based on their individual needs. Typically,
documents that are utilized frequently by more than one person; documents that you want to use
working copies of (so the original can be kept safe); or documents that you wish to have archived are
good candidates for scanning.
We have our own record-scanning system. Why do I need you?
We can provide scanning of older records or larger projects that you do not have the time or the staff
to handle. We can work with your formats and indexes to provide you with image and text files you
can upload directly into your own system.
What formats do you use?
We normally provide images in PDF or TIFF Group IV formats.
How do we find the scanned image we are looking for?
We work with your staff to determine the criteria you use when searching for a document. We index
the documents with that criteria and/or provide OCR (optical character recognition) for you. We work
with our clients to make sure needed images can be found quickly.
How do you provide us with the scanned images?
The clients needs are evaluated and images are delivered based on the evaluation results. We can
provide the scanned image files on CD or DVD, post the files to our secure Web site, upload the files
to your own server, or bring the files to you and download the files directly onto your PC.
